Catedrals a la capella
Capella de Sant Roc is a public space for contemporary art in Valls, Catalonia. It is located in a deconsecrated church and started its activity in 1985.
Between 2011 and 2013, it held ten exhibitions from ten different artists that made an interpretation of Raymond Carver’s ‘Cathedral’. We designed the exhibition’s invitations, their catalogues and an editorial piece that compiled them all.
The idea of contemporary art happening inside a chapel was so interesting to us that we decided to literally translate it to the visual language. The cover and the invitations develop this idea in different ways.
We decided the catalogues to be graphic translations of the artists’ pieces. We designed them in close collaboration with every artist in order to achieve meaningful results.
